Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Henry Bafana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alamimo Hoku (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alamimo Hoku will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bafana gets the takedown into side control.

Hoku is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Bafana's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Bafana's back!

Hoku is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Bafana changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hoku tries to avoid it but Bafana manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hoku to the ground. Hoku escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Hoku closes the distance and clinches up with Bafana, looking for a takedown. Hoku pushes Bafana against the cage but Bafana circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Nice takedown defense from Hoku. No joy for Bafana on that attempt.

Bafana shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hoku as he jumps to the side.
Bafana tries to move into range but Hoku moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Hoku stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Bafana bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Hoku manages to get back to half guard.
Bafana prevents Hoku from improving his position.
Hoku connecting with a few gentle strikes.
Bafana working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hoku is looking for a sweep. Bafana is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Bafana connects with a nice short shot to Hoku's temple.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Bafana darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Bafana seems to be looking for submissions.
Hoku wants to improve his position but Bafana is controlling well.

That was a close round but I would say that Henry Bafana will probably get the nod.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Hoku, as that shot connected.
Bafana tries to close the distance and clinch but Hoku swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hoku is on top in guard.

Alamimo Hoku seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Bafana throws a front kick aimed at Hoku's knee but Hoku avoids it well.

Bafana uses his free foot to push down on Hoku's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Hoku.
