Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Seu Braga and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva swats away the attempt to clinch by Paulo.
Silva throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Paulo is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Silva scores with a takedown into Paulo's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Silva won't allow Paulo to get back to his feet.
Paulo throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Paulo has control of Silva's left arm, preventing Silva from doing any damage.
Silva trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Paulo trying to keep a closed guard but Silva is proving a slippery customer.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Joao Paulo was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Silva throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Paulo tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Silva is in Paulo's guard.
Silva might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Paulo is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Silva is aware though and is defending well.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Silva shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Paulo manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Paulo utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Silva wants to control from the top but Paulo keeps moving.
Paulo looking to hit a scissor sweep but Silva is one step ahead there.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Silva trying to control but Paulo is working from the bottom.
Silva tries to free his leg and advance position but Paulo is retaining full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Marcos Silva.
Good work by Paulo as he checks the leg kick.
Paulo throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Silva's waist but Silva gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Paulo off to one side.

Silva shoots in and gets a takedown into Paulo's guard.
Silva postures up.
Paulo is looking to cinch up a triangle. Silva throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Paulo's body to avoid the submission. Paulo has instead reached around Silva's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Paulo arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
