Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Can Kaya!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alex Irwin!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Wesley Smith and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kaya thows a body shot but no joy.
Kaya shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Irwin sprawls well. Irwin wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kaya gets slowly back to his feet.
Kaya shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Irwin defends it nicely.
Alex Irwin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Good leg kick by Irwin there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Irwin scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Nice takedown defense from Irwin. No joy for Kaya on that attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Can Kaya. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kaya defending well as Irwin loads up on a big left hand.

Irwin shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Kaya tries to kick Irwin off but Irwin keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Kaya moves into full guard.
Irwin postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Irwin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kaya. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Irwin is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kaya trying to strike off his back.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Irwin's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Irwin working some strikes from top position.
Irwin scoring with some ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Irwin is working Kaya over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Irwin postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Kaya controls Irwin momentarily but Irwin frees himself.
Irwin trying to control the position from guard on top but Kaya is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Irwin's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kaya keeping moving, preventing Irwin from controlling successfully.
Irwin tries to stand but Kaya is controlling from the bottom.
Irwin scoring with some ground and pound.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Irwin postures up.
Kaya can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Irwin controls the pace.
Kaya not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Can Kaya just wasn't active enough.

Irwin throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kaya was covering up waiting for the punch and Irwin finishes the takedown easily into guard.


Kaya is rocked!
Kaya is breathing heavily.
Irwin arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Kaya's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Alex Irwin!
Alex Irwin really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Steel Penn - Battle Ready Nutrition logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
