Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nikolaev Kodveinko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and JaMarcus Russell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Russell has chosen My Time - Fabolous & Jeremih as his entrance music. JaMarcus Russell will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nikolaev Kodveinko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, JaMarcus Russell!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Albert Achterberg and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kodveinko closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Russell's guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Nikolaev Kodveinko dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Russell shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Kodveinko eats them both and turns towards Russell to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Russell shoots in but Kodveinko avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Russell feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Kodveinko on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Kodveinko tries to get out of the position.

Kodveinko darts in looking for a takedown but Russell gets double underhooks and turns Kodveinko into the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nikolaev Kodveinko. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Russell is pressed up against the cage. Kodveinko has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Russell down to the mat. Russell avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Russell goes for a double leg but Kodveinko avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Kodveinko continues to drive forward.
A frustrated look appears on Russell's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Russell escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kodveinko darts in looking for a takedown but Russell gets double underhooks and turns Kodveinko into the cage.

Russell breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

JaMarcus Russell showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Russell throws a front kick aimed at Kodveinko's knee but Kodveinko avoids it well.
Kodveinko shoots in for a double leg but Russell sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Russell is defended easily by Kodveinko.
