PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bob Chang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Chiasson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bob Chang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Matt Chiasson!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Paulsen Ambrosius and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chang tries for a takedown but Chiasson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Chang shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Chiasson is trying to defend but Chang finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Bob Chang just wasn't active enough.

Chiasson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Chang pinned against the cage. Chang gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Chang takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Chang definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Matt Chiasson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Chiasson moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Chang dives in and grabs Chiasson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Chiasson pushes down on Chang's head and hops out.

Chiasson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Chang closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Chiasson is looking to escape.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Chang wants to pass the guard but Chiasson is defending well.

Chang not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

That was a close round but I would say that Bob Chang will probably get the nod.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Chiasson manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Chang feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Chang, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
