Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Josh Howell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Doumbos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Josh Howell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alex Doumbos!
The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Hugh Johnson and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doumbos looks to land a combination but Howell avoids it well.
Doumbos forces Howell back against the cage and clinches.
Doumbos is working for takedown but Howell is calmly controlling the position for now.
Doumbos is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Howell can't fight it off and eventually Doumbos manages to take the fight to the floor. Howell looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Howell is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Hate Made Me Asylum that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

Howell wants to take the fight to the mat but Doumbos manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Doumbos lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Howell backwards.
Doumbos goes for a takedown attempt but Howell pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Howell bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Doumbos's head backwards.
Doumbos looks to land a right hand but Howell moved out of range.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Howell throws a lazy right hand but Doumbos sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Doumbos throws a head kick that misses.
Howell lands an overhand right.
Howell fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Doumbos looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

and Doumbos counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Howell is refusing to be controlled, as Doumbos sits in half guard.
Howell wants to improve his position but Doumbos is controlling well.
Howell is working hard here to advance position.

Doumbos thows a huge punch but Howell dodges it nicely.
Howell keeps control of the position for the meantime.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Doumbos in particular looking to stall.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Howell has hold of Doumbos's hands but Doumbos slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Doumbos wants to control from the top but Howell keeps moving.

Howell feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Doumboss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Doumbos throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

Doumbos drives through with a takedown into Howell's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Howell has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Doumbos has one foot on Howell's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Howell lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Doumbos tries to close the distance and clinch but Howell swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Doumbos shoots and misses
and Howell counters with a series of strikes. Doumbos will be more careful next time no doubt.
Doumbos goes for a double leg but Howell avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Howell continues to drive forward.
Doumbos is breathing heavily.

Howell throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Doumbos on the side of the head.
Howell leaves Doumbos with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Doumbos throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Howell's waist but Howell gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Doumbos off to one side.
Howell throws a good cross that connects.

Doumbos takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Howell cracks Doumbos's jaw with two stiff jabs then ducks low and throws a soul-severing right uppercut to the mouth!! Doumbos slumps to the ground with blood on his lips. The referee steps in before Howell can do further damage! This one is done, son!
