Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Pickett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sergei Iakov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Iakov has chosen Pussy Riot - Punk Prayer as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Arvi Lind and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Iakov shoots in but Pickett avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Pickett misses with a takedown attempt - Iakov sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Iakov tries to bum rush Pickett with a series of wild strikes but Pickett uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Pickett tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Iakov defends well and Pickett ends up having to push Iakov into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Pickett is trying to pull guard but Iakov turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Pickett lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Pickett could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Pickett closes the distance and clinches up with Iakov, looking for a takedown. Pickett pushes Iakov against the cage but Iakov circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Pickett throws a front kick aimed at Iakov's knee but Iakov avoids it well.

Iakov lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Iakov stuns Pickett with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Pickett gets caught flat footed, as Iakov shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Iakov sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Pickett's guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Iakov looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Sergei Iakov showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Iakov fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Pickett avoids it really well and circles away.
Pickett changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Iakov looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Iakov tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Pickett easily slips into full mount!
Pickett jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Iakov is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Iakov and Pickett has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Pickett is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Iakov knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Iakov pushes Pickett away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Pickett gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Pickett creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Iakov sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Iakov is trying to control Pickett's posture but Pickett avoids it.

Sergei Iakov is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Pickett working the ground and pound but Iakov is defending the strikes.
Iakov tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Pickett presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Pickett postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Iakov looks a forlorn figure.

Pickett lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Iakov hang on?
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Iakov wants to control but Pickett passes into side.

Iakov tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Pickett wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Johnny Pickett has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Johnny Pickett.
Well Iakov has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
