Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between August Pacheco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Costa Ioannou (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Costa Ioannou has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, August Pacheco!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Costa Ioannou!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pacheco moves into the clinch.
Pacheco tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Ioannou smiles and moves away.
Ioannou shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Pacheco sprawls well. Pacheco wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Ioannou gets slowly back to his feet.
Pacheco slaps away a takedown attempt from Ioannou, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Both fighters circling a little - Ioannou finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Ioannou tries for a takedown but Pacheco sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
August Pacheco has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Costa Ioannou.
Pacheco feints a jab promting Ioannou to slip. Pacheco then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Ioannou slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Costa Ioannou hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
