Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Juan Tamad (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pvt. Mullen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mullen. Tamad comes into the arena with The Joker blaring out of the sound system. Juan Tamad is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 1, fighting out of London, Juan Tamad!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 11 - 2, fighting out of Amsterdam, Pvt. Mullen!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Andrew Berry and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mullen uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Tamad.
Tamad dodges the punch combination from Mullen.
Tamad throws an overhand right that lands on Mullen's shoulder, as Mullen tries to avoid the shot.
Mullen lands with a shot to the body.
Mullen lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Tamad circles away quickly and effectively.
Mullen misses with a lunging right hand
and Tamad counters with a nice kick to the body.
Mullen misses with a right hand
and Tamad cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Mullen tried to score with a low kick but Tamad checks it.
Tamad throws a nice looking combination but Mullen bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Mullen swings for the body but Tamad moves out of range.
Mullen fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Tamad manages to avoid it.
Tamad will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Tamad circles away from the clinch attempt.

Tamad displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Mullen throws out the jab.
Tamad throws a hook to the side of Mullen's head but Mullen sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Mullen takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Mullen ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Tamad moves away.
Tamad has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Tamad there as he acknowledges the shot.
Tamad changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mullen tries to avoid it but Tamad manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mullen to the ground. Mullen escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Tamad throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Mullen scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.


It looks like Juan Tamad has been cut.
Pvt. Mullen is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Mullen steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Tamad.
Tamad looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Mullen throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Tamad sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Mullen lands a nice leg kick that just misses Tamad's sensitive parts.

Tamad throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Mullen on the side of the head.

Tamad feints a jab promting Mullen to slip. Tamad then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Mullen slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Mullen walks into a stiff left hand from Tamad.

Tamad scores with a hook to the body. Mullen takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Sloppy strikes from Mullen. Those never looked like landing.
Mullen blocks a jab.
Mullen scores with a nice head shot.
Danga de danga de dang - Tamad scores with a four punch combination!
A low kick from Tamad misses
and Mullen counters with a thumping low kick.
Tamad lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Mullen at a distance.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Mullen moves into the clinch successfully.
Tamad misses with the head strike.
Tamad tries to throw a body punch but Mullen avoids it by throwing Tamad back against the cage.

Tamad breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Mullen steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Tamad.
Tamad throws a nice inside leg kick.

The fighters circle momentarily. Mullen darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Tamad connects with a leg kick. Mullen looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Mullen lands with an overhand left.
That kick from Tamad tenderised Mullen's leg. Mullen is trying to keep his angry face on.
Mullen misses with a wild body shot.
Tamad takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Mullen misses with a hook. Tamad ducked under it nicely.
Mullen misses with a looping left.
Tamad throws a front kick aimed at Mullen's knee but Mullen avoids it well.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Mullen sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Juan Tamad will probably get the nod.

Mullen takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Mullen scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Mullen throws a lazy right hand but Tamad sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Good leg kick by Tamad there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Tamad is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Mullen.

Tamad shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Mullen napping and manages to drive through into side control!
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Mullen can't do much from the bottom here.
The ground and pound from Tamad seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Mullen tries to bench press Tamad off him but Tamad keeps the position.
Mullen manages to work his way to half guard, despite Tamad's best efforts.
Tamad thows a huge punch but Mullen dodges it nicely.

Tamad is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Mullen reverses the position - he's now on top in Tamad's guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

That was a close second round but I would say that Juan Tamad will probably get the nod.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Mullen's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
