PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Oliver Armstrong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mazarok Veneck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Veneck has chosen Iron Maiden-Run to the hills as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Oliver Armstrong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mazarok Veneck!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yuuki Gou and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Veneck tries to keep at a distance but Armstrong has taken the fight into the clinch.
Veneck drops down looking for an ankle pick but Armstrong pulls his leg out and moves away.
Veneck dives in and grabs Armstrong's left leg, looking for a takedown. Armstrong pushes down on Veneck's head and hops out.
Armstrong fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Veneck shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Oliver Armstrong has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mazarok Veneck.

Armstrong throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Veneck's waist but Veneck gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Armstrong off to one side.

Armstrong moves into the clinch.
Veneck is looking to break free of the clinch but Armstrong has double underhooks.

Veneck escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Veneck stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Veneck wants it to stay on the feet.
Armstrong tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Veneck swivels and escapes.
Veneck fails with an attempt to clinch.

Veneck fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Armstrong avoids it really well and circles away.
Veneck has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Veneck closes the distance and clinches up with Armstrong, looking for a takedown. Veneck pushes Armstrong against the cage but Armstrong circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Armstrong goes for a double leg but Veneck avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Veneck continues to drive forward.
We've been informed that Veneck has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Armstrong breaks the clinch.
Armstrong with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Veneck shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Veneck is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Armstrong tries to score a power double leg takedown but Veneck sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Armstrong somewhat.

Armstrong shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Veneck's guard.
