Coops Jnr tries to keep at a distance but Melendez has taken the fight into the clinch.
Coops Jnr is trying to drag Melendez to the mat but Melendez just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Melendez breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Coops Jnr dives in and grabs Melendez's left leg, looking for a takedown. Melendez pushes down on Coops Jnr's head and hops out.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Coops Jnr misses with a double jab
and Melendez counters with a three punch combo that has Coops Jnr backing up. Coops Jnr nods at Melendez to acknowledge the strikes.
