Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Alexandre Firmino and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martins throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Carlson misses with a jab, cross combination.
Martins shoots and misses
and Carlson counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Carlson shoots in looking for a takedown but Martins manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Carlson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Nice takedown defense from Carlson. No joy for Martins on that attempt.
Martins lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Martins misses with a right hand
and Carlson makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Martins shoots in looking for a takedown. Carlson tries to sprawl out of it but Martins keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Carlson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
A head kick from Martins lands but Carlson takes it in his stride.


It looks like Scotty Carlson has been cut.

Carlson dives in for a single leg takedown but Martins sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Martins has closed the distance and engaged Carlson in a clinch.
Martins has Carlson pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Carlson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Carlson tries to pull guard but Martins holds him up against the cage and eventually Carlson drops back down to his feet.

Martins is wriggling around but Carlson manages to pass to half guard.

Martins has his foot on Carlson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Carlson works his way back into a safe position though.
Carlson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Martins wants to get back to his feet but Carlson is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Martins trying to keep a closed guard but Carlson is proving a slippery customer.

Martins is looking for a triangle but Carlson pushes his legs off easily.
Carlson with a flurry of punches that miss.
Martins lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Carlson!

Carlson is squirming around, avoiding Martins's attempts to control the action.
Carlson is desperately trying to improve his position but Martins has a good base and remains in mount.
Carlson tries to buck Martins off but he can't manage it.
Martins working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Martins wants to control the pace but Carlson is squirming around nicely.
Taylor Martins has got the better of the ground game so far.

The referee warns Carlson that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Martins has isolated one of Carlson's arms. Carlson looking to fight him off but Martins twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
