The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maskrey keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Maskrey shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Maskrey was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Maskrey is staying tight to Thullstrup's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Thullstrup manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Maskrey keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Thullstrup might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Maskrey seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Thullstrup has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Maskrey is on him like a limpet, forcing Thullstrup back against the cage.
Maskrey goes for a takedown attempt but Thullstrup pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Thullstrup fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Maskrey to the ground. Thullstrup is now in Maskrey's guard.
Thullstrup wants to control from the top but Maskrey keeps moving.

Thullstrup is working an open guard so Maskrey takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Maskrey shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Thullstrup is trying to defend but Maskrey finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Maskrey thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Thullstrup's head.

Maskrey is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Maskrey closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Thullstrup is looking to regain half guard here but Maskrey keeps moving and retains side control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Maskrey decides to stand up, so the ref orders Thullstrup to his feet.
Maskrey works Thullstrup's body with a nice hook.
Thullstrup misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Maskrey ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Thullstrup moves away.
Thullstrup displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Maskrey.
Daniel Thullstrup has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nathan Maskrey.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Maskrey enables Thullstrup to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Maskrey manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Thullstrup wants to pass the guard but Maskrey is keeping the position.
Thullstrup looking to sit in guard and control but Maskrey gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Maskrey is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Maskrey connects with a nice short shot to Thullstrup's temple.

Maskrey seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Thullstrup is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
