Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Renato Otis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trevor Tang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Trevor Tang told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Renato Otis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Trevor Tang! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Roosa Järviläinen and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tang stuffs the takedown attempt from Otis. Otis gets slowly back to his feet. Tang has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Otis is landing a low percentage of strikes. Renato Otis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Otis goes for a double leg but Tang avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Tang continues to drive forward. Tang wants to break the clinch but can't.
Otis is trying to push Tang away but Tang has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Otis misses with a body punch.
Tang working hard to break the clinch. Otis is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Tang is defending well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Renato Otis. That's going to take a lot out of him. Tang wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Tang gets underhooks to prevent Otis's takedown attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tang on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Otis is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Tang to keep the fight standing. Tang tries to circle away but Otis has him pinned against the cage. Tang is defending well against a takedown attempt. Tang is pressed up against the cage. Otis has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Tang down to the mat. Tang avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Nice sprawl there from Tang as Otis shoots in. Tang gets tackled into the cage by Otis. Otis maintains the clinch. Tang prevents the takedown attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tang stops a takedown attempt from Otis.
Otis tries to circle away but Tang has him pinned against the cage. Otis fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Tang blocks a body shot from Otis. Tang wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Otis has him pressed against the cage. Otis can't get the takedown.
Tang breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Otis looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Otis shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Tang pinned against the cage. Tang gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Otis shoots in and drives through. Tang sprawls well. Otis misses with a few strikes there.
Otis scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Otis is looking for a kimura here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tang is looking to improve his position.
Otis controlling the pace. We've been hearing good reports from Otis's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Tang is trying to control but can't.

Renato Otis dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Otis misses with a takedown attempt - Tang sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Otis changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Tang tries to avoid it but Otis manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Tang to the ground. Tang escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Otis closes this distance looking for a takedown but Tang circles away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Renato Otis. That's going to take a lot out of him. Otis fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Otis shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Tang as he jumps to the side. Otis shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Tang pinned against the cage. Tang gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Otis will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Otis shoots in for a takedown but Tang shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Renato Otis is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Otis misses with a takedown attempt and Tang counters with a two punch combo. Otis looks to clinch and Tang counters with a left and a right that stings Otis. Horrible takedown by Otis or perhaps it was just good defense by Tang which made him look bad. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Otis with a lazy takedown attempt and Tang cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Otis closes the distance and clinches up with Tang, looking for a takedown. Otis pushes Tang against the cage but Tang circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Otis doesn't manage to clinch there - Tang circles away.
Tang keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Otis tries to close the distance and clinch but Tang swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Otis shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Tang pinned against the cage. Tang gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Nice takedown defense from Tang. No joy for Otis on that attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Otis tries to clinch up but Tang circles away and keeps his distance. Otis bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Otis trying to control the action but Tang is working from the bottom. Otis looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tang looking for a sweep but Otis has passed into full mount! Oh no! Otis wants to stand but Tang is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
Otis is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Tang can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Tang is squirming around, avoiding Otis's attempts to control the action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Renato Otis dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Tang stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Tang wants it to stay on the feet. Tang slaps away a takedown attempt from Otis, before circling back to the center of the mat. Otis displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Otis. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Renato Otis. That's going to take a lot out of him. Otis motions for Tang to come forward. Otis throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Tang stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Tang wants it to stay on the feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nice takedown defense from Tang. No joy for Otis on that attempt. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Otis shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Tang defends it nicely. Otis shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Tang as he avoids it easily. Otis shoots in but Tang avoids the takedown attempt easily. Tang avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Otis fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Otis dives in and grabs Tang's left leg, looking for a takedown. Tang pushes down on Otis's head and hops out. Otis misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

and Tang counters with a left and a right that stings Otis. Otis tries for a takedown but Tang circles away easily and Tang connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Horrible takedown by Otis or perhaps it was just good defense by Tang which made him look bad. Tang stuffs the takedown attempt from Otis. Otis gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Otis dives in and grabs Tang's left leg, looking for a takedown. Tang pushes down on Otis's head and hops out. Tang leaves Otis with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Otis doesn't succeed with the takedown and Tang counters with a two punch combo. Otis misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Otis shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Tang as he avoids it easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Otis shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Tang defends it nicely. Otis shoots in looking for a takedown. Tang tries to sprawl out of it but Otis keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Tang manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Otis wants to clinch and Tang makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Renato Otis is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. A bone on bone clash there as Tang blocks the leg kick.
Trevor Tang has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Otis shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Renato Otis. Well Otis has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win...
