Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Gus Stein!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Tomasz Kobylec!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Phil Schofield and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stein wants to clinch.

Kobylec clinches with his opponent.
Stein tries to stall but Kobylec uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Kobylec avoiding damage as Stein throws knees to the body.
Kobylec leaning his opponent against the cage.
Stein jumps guard but Kobylec stands there with Stein around his waist. Stein gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Stein tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Kobylec smiles and moves away.
Stein really is a fat lump.
Stein shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gus Stein. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kobylec fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Kobylec scores with a one two! Stein had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.


It looks like Gus Stein has been cut.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Stein.
Kobylec shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Stein defends it nicely.

Stein pushes Kobylec up against the cage in a clinch.
Stein blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Stein manages to break the clinch.
Kobylec misses with a low kick.

and Stein takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Kobylec tries for a takedown but Stein sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Kobylec shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Stein sprawls well. Stein wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kobylec gets slowly back to his feet.

Kobylec gets a clinch.
Kobylec misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Stein.
Kobylec is trying to break free.
Stein tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Stein fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Kobylec has had enough of the clinch but Stein keeps him there for the moment.

Stein pulls guard successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Kobylec wants to get up but he can't break Stein's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Kobylec trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Kobylec pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Stein is keeping the position for now.

Stein working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kobylec doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kobylec manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Stein looking for a sweep. Not yet Stein, not yet.
Kobylec postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Kobylec wants to control from the top but Stein keeps moving.

Kobylec drops back, looking for a kneebar! Stein looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Stein looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Stein!
Kobylec can't do much from the bottom here.

Kobylec throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.
Kobylec is looking to reverse the position.
Stein laying and praying for a moment but Kobylec takes advantage and regains half guard.
Stein missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kobylec wants to get back to full guard but Stein has mounted him!
Stein manages to capitalize on a mistake by Kobylec to take his back!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Gus Stein's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Stein darts in looking for a takedown but Kobylec gets double underhooks and turns Stein into the cage.

Stein breaks from the clinch.
A decent looking cross lands there for Stein.


It looks like Tomasz Kobylec has been cut.
Kobylec closes this distance looking for a takedown but Stein circles away.
Kobylec looks for a takedown but Stein sprawls well.
Stein stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Stein wants it to stay on the feet.
Gus Stein has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tomasz Kobylec.
Kobylec tries to close the distance and clinch up but Stein swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Stein pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Kobylec back to the cage. Stein follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Stein shoots for a takedown but Kobylec saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Kobylec misses with a jab, cross combination.
Nice sprawl there from Kobylec as Stein shoots in.
Kobylec closes this distance looking for a takedown but Stein circles away.
Stein changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kobylec tries to avoid it but Stein manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kobylec to the ground. Kobylec escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Stein misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Stein closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Stein is trying to pull guard but Kobylec has him pressed against the cage.
Kobylec is trying to break the clinch but Stein is controlling him.

Kobylec successfully pulls guard.
Stein passes Kobylec's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Kobylec tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Stein has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

Kobylec keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Stein get's back to his feet.
Kobylec dives in and grabs Stein's left leg, looking for a takedown. Stein pushes down on Kobylec's head and hops out.
Stein looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kobylec is fending him off so far but Stein persists. Nope, Kobylec circles away and we're back to standing.
Nice body kick from Stein.

Stein gets the takedown into side control.

Sloppy strikes there by Stein.
Stein postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Kobylec wants to control but Stein postures up.

Stein tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Stein tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Stein has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kobylec wants to control but Stein postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gus Stein dominated that second round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kobylec is defended easily by Stein.
Stein closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kobylec circles away.
Kobylec shoots in for a takedown but Stein shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Kobylec tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Stein defends well and Kobylec ends up having to push Stein into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Gus Stein has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tomasz Kobylec.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Stein escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kobylec takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Kobylec closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Kobylec in particular looking to stall.
Stein is staying active underneath Kobylec, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Stein moves into full guard.

Stein is looking for a triangle but Kobylec pushes his legs off easily.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Stein holds on and takes a little breather.

Stein is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Stein looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Kobylec trying to control but Stein is working from the bottom.
Stein trying to keep a closed guard but Kobylec is proving a slippery customer.

Stein has his foot on Kobylec's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kobylec works his way back into a safe position though.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Tomasz Kobylec was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Kobylec throws a series of punches but Stein avoids them all with ease.
Kobylec misses with a takedown attempt - Stein sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Stein moves into the clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Stein had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kobylec defends it easily.
Kobylec scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

And that's the end of the fight!
Tomasz Kobylec comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Kobylec has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
