Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dontae Sheldon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Omar Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sheldon comes to the cage accompanied by Salmon Song. Omar Jackson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dontae Sheldon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Omar Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Robert Twigg and George Francis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Sheldon cracks Jackson with an open hand slap.
Sheldon avoids the head kick by Jackson.
Jackson dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Jackson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Sheldon is fending him off so far but Jackson persists. Nope, Sheldon circles away and we're back to standing.

Jackson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sheldon moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Jackson working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jackson throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Jackson tries to pass to full mount but Sheldon defends it.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jackson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Omar Jackson hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

That was a close second round but I would say that Dontae Sheldon will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
