Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Thurman Pope (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sean Doyle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doyle shoots in for a takedown but Pope shows good takedown defense.
Doyle misses with a takedown attempt
and Pope counters with a good, hard body kick but Doyle shrugs it off.
Doyle tries to clinch up but Pope circles away and keeps his distance.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Doyle is defended easily by Pope.
Thurman Pope has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sean Doyle.

and Pope counters with a two punch combo.
Doyle avoids the body shot from Pope.
Doyle fails with an attempt to clinch.
Pope really is a fat lump.
Doyle dodges the punch combination from Pope.
Pope throws a sloppy head kick
and Doyle counters with a left to the body.
Doyle throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Doyle has his takedown stuffed
and Pope counters with a one-two to the body.
Pope misses with a kick to the body.
Sean Doyle seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pope works over Doyle's head and body with a nice combination.
Pope lands a two punch combo.
Pope misses with a few strikes there.
Doyle has his takedown stuffed
and Pope counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Doyle is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Doyle looks winded!
Pope lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Doyle circles away quickly and effectively.
Doyle moves to clinch but Pope breaks away
and Pope connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Doyle darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Pope makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Pope.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Doyle has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Pope to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Doyle is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Pope pulls down on the head and he's put Doyle to sleep! This one is all over!
