Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Sam Mckenzie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stephen Macfarlane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Sam Mckenzie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Stephen Macfarlane!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, William Gold and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Macfarlane gets the takedown into side control.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
A lull in the action here as Macfarlane stalls from top position.
Mckenzie gets back to half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Mckenzie is trying to maintain the position but Macfarlane is very close to passing his half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Macfarlane prevents Mckenzie from improving his position.
Macfarlane is trying to control the action in half guard but Mckenzie is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Stephen Macfarlane hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Macfarlane moves out of range of the body kick.

Macfarlane closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Macfarlane lands in his opponent's guard.
Macfarlane throws an elbow that misses. Mckenzie uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Macfarlane's guard. Nice move by Mckenzie!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Macfarlane has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Mckenzie has passed into side control.
Mckenzie will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Macfarlane avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Mckenzie.
Mckenzie landing strikes.
Macfarlane tries to bench press Mckenzie off him but Mckenzie keeps the position.
Mckenzie gets to mount! Macfarlane was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Mckenzie postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Macfarlane looks a forlorn figure.
Macfarlane really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mckenzie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Mckenzie scoring with strikes but Macfarlane is staying in there.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mckenzie throws some wild stikes that Macfarlane manages to avoid easily.
Mckenzie is landing with some decent strikes but Macfarlane is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Macfarlane wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Mckenzie lands a couple of good shots and Macfarlane has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
Mckenzie is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Macfarlane. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.
Mckenzie throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mckenzie looking for the choke from the back.
Oooh a big shot gets through from Mckenzie. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Mckenzie lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Macfarlane is trying to defend against the choke here but Mckenzie has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Mckenzie Tightens the hold and Macfarlane taps out furiously! Mckenzie displays superior BJJ to win the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Sam Mckenzie!
