Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dave Davisdon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dawood Shirzada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shirzada has chosen Wu Tang as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Daniel Franklin and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davisdon scores with a body shot.
Davisdon looks to throw the jab but Shirzada is out of range.
No luck for Shirzada with that takedown attempt.
Davisdon keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Davisdon throws a sloppy head kick and Shirzada moves out of range easily.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Davisdon is defended easily by Shirzada.
Davisdon has been working on his balance at Cozad The Island, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Shirzada.
Davisdon shoots in and drives through. Shirzada sprawls well.

Shirzada circles away from the clinch attempt.
Davisdon swings for the body but Shirzada moves out of range.

Davisdon is looking to break free of the clinch but Shirzada has double underhooks.
Davisdon wants a takedown but no success here.
Shirzada wants to get back to striking at distance but Davisdon won't allow it.
Davisdon has had enough of the clinch but Shirzada keeps him there for the moment.

Davisdon stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Davisdon wants it to stay on the feet.
Davisdon shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Shirzada as he jumps to the side.
Davisdon tries to clinch up.
Shirzada shoots in looking for a takedown. Davisdon tries to sprawl out of it but Shirzada keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Davisdon manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Shirzada shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Davisdon sprawls well. Davisdon wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Shirzada gets slowly back to his feet.
Davisdon will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Shirzada shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Davisdon pinned against the cage. Davisdon gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

A looping hook to the body misses from Davisdon. Shirzada does a little dance to reset his feet.
Davisdon tries to close the distance and clinch up but Shirzada swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Davisdon shoots in for a takedown but Shirzada shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Davisdon is breathing heavily.
Shirzada fails with the takedown.
Davisdon closes the distance and clinches up with Shirzada, looking for a takedown. Davisdon pushes Shirzada against the cage but Shirzada circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Shirzada looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Davisdon tries to sprawl but Shirzada drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Shirzada wants to control but Davisdon is keeping him busy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Davisdon moves into full guard.
Davisdon is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Shirzada frees his head nicely. Oh but Davisdon has switched to an armbar! Shirzada is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!

A determined Dave Davisdon didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
