Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ingemar Stenmark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gary Hunt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ingemar Stenmark!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Gary Hunt!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Summer Carpenter and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stenmark clobbers Hunt with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Stenmark scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Hunt throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Stenmark was covering up waiting for the punch and Hunt finishes the takedown easily into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hunt accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Stenmark keeping moving, preventing Hunt from controlling successfully.
Hunt looking to pass the guard.
Hunt working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Hunt with a flurry of punches that miss.
Stenmark looking for a sweep. Not yet Stenmark, not yet.
Stenmark manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hunt manages to get himself to full guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Stenmark stands and throws Hunt's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Hunt really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Stenmark. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Stenmark is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hunt is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Stenmark wants to stand but Hunt is controlling his arm.
Stenmark will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Stenmark tries for a kimura but Hunt is defending well.
Stenmark tries to advance to mount but Hunt denies him.
Hunt is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Stenmark prevents Hunt from improving his position.
Hunt trying to hold on to Stenmark's head to control him but Stenmark postures up.
Hunt is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Stenmark is staying active.
Hunt keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Hunt's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Gary Hunt hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Hunt bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Hunt wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stenmark keeps working.

Hunt should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Stenmark parries the strikes from Hunt easily there. Hunt is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Stenmark to escape.

Stenmark keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Stenmark is pressing down on Hunt's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Stenmark is trying to control the position but Hunt postures up.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Hunt fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Stenmark to the ground. Hunt is now in Stenmark's guard.

Stenmark is looking for a triangle but Hunt pushes his legs off easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hunt is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Hunt throws an elbow that misses. Stenmark uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Hunt's guard. Nice move by Stenmark!
Hunt has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Stenmark has passed into side control.

Stenmark tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
