Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between George OMalley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryu Shyoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, George OMalley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ryu Shyoto!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Taro Takaoka and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
OMalley circles away from the clinch attempt.
OMalley shoots for a double leg takedown but Shyoto sprawls well. He's pushed OMalley's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
OMalley tries for a takedown but Shyoto sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Shyoto throws a body punch but OMalley moves out of range.
Shyoto is looking to clinch but OMalley is avoiding it.
Shyoto is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
OMalley changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Shyoto tries to avoid it but OMalley manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Shyoto to the ground. Shyoto escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for George OMalley. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
OMalley has a takedown stuffed.
OMalley throws a combination. Shyoto tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

OMalley shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
OMalley misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Shyoto misses with a wild combination.
OMalley throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Shyoto's waist but Shyoto gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing OMalley off to one side.
Shyoto stuffs the takedown attempt from OMalley. OMalley gets slowly back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
OMalley throws a right and a left that Shyoto avoids nicely.
OMalley misses with a takedown attempt - Shyoto sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

OMalley shoots in and bounces Shyoto off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
OMalley is breathing heavily.
Shyoto is controlling OMalley's posture.
Shyoto lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for OMalley!

Shyoto is landing with some decent strikes but OMalley is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
OMalley is desperately trying to improve his position but Shyoto has a good base and remains in mount.
Shyoto really doesn't want to stay on the ground with OMalley. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Shyoto controlling the pace for now.
Shyoto can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as OMalley is looking to escape.
BOOM! Shyoto connects with a massive shot to the dome!
OMalley is wriggling around trying to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Shyoto pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Shyoto controlling his opponent.
OMalley is working to get back to half guard.
OMalley takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Shyoto sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Shyoto postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. OMalley looks a forlorn figure.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ryu Shyoto dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


OMalley will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
OMalley fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
OMalley shoots for a takedown but Shyoto saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
OMalley fails with the takedown.
Shyoto tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Shyoto misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
OMalley has a takedown stuffed.
Shyoto lands a head shot.
OMalley shoots in for a takedown but Shyoto shows good takedown defense.

Shyoto misses with the combination.

Shyoto closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Shyoto is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Shyoto drops to a knee looking for a takedown but OMalley gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Shyoto goes for a takedown attempt but OMalley pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Shyoto throws a left and a right that both miss

and OMalley counters with a takedown into side control.
Shyoto takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Shyoto wants to control but OMalley postures up.

OMalley is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Shyoto is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Shyoto is trying to work for a sweep but OMalley has mounted him!

OMalley looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Shyoto is looking to get to half guard.

OMalley jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Shyoto is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Shyoto and OMalley has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
OMalley tries to advance to mount but Shyoto instead regains half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

George OMalley dominated that second round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


OMalley shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Shyoto pinned against the cage. Shyoto gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
OMalley shoots in but Shyoto avoids the takedown attempt easily.

and Shyoto counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

and OMalley counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
OMalley frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Shyoto wants to control but OMalley is having none of it.
George OMalley overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Shyoto is trying desperately to improve position.
OMalley with a couple of short strikes.

OMalley jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Shyoto manages to avoid the submission attempt.
OMalley tries to move into full mount but can't pass Shyoto's legs.

OMalley is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Shyoto is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Shyoto is trying to improve his position.

OMalley is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Shyoto has escaped the position, nice work there.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Shyoto is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but OMalley has just dragged him back down to the mat.
OMalley works to advance to full mount. Shyoto defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

OMalley has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Shyoto is forced to tap!
