Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kameny Moura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joshua James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kameny Moura!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Joshua James!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Alexandre Firmino and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Moura gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Moura has his foot on James's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. James works his way back into a safe position though.
Moura keeping moving, preventing James from controlling successfully.

Moura is looking for a triangle but James pushes his legs off easily.

James forces his way into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

James is trying to control. Moura wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
James might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Moura haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Moura is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but James pulls his head out easily.
James wants to pass to mount but Moura is defending the position.

Moura looking for submissions off his back.

James is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
James tries to pass the half guard into mount. Moura knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
James is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Moura tries to reverse the position but James maintains control.
Moura is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

James jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Moura is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Moura and James has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Moura tries to get back to half guard but can't.

James looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Moura is looking to work his way out of this bad position but James is controlling him well.
Moura regains half guard there - taking advantage of James's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.

James frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Moura is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Moura is working hard here to advance position.
James looking to control but Moura is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
James throws some wild stikes that Moura manages to avoid easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

James moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Moura has worked his arm free - good work by Moura!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Moura wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Moura shoots in but James avoids the takedown attempt easily.
James fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Moura on the side of the head.

James decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

James is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Moura has escaped the position, nice work there.
Moura tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but James wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

James passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Moura!

James looking to control but Moura is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

James swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Moura is now in James's guard. A big mistake from James there, giving up the dominant position!

Moura is stalling in the full guard.
Moura stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. James swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Moura trying to control but James is working from the bottom.
Moura wants to stand but James has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Moura wants to control from the top but James keeps moving.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Kameny Moura just wasn't active enough.

James clinches up with Moura and pushes him back against the cage.

James has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Moura uses from the top position.

Moura wants to stand and escape but instead James has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
James sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Moura's guard.
James wants to pass to mount but Moura is defending the position.

James is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Moura defends it well.

James looking to take Moura's back but Moura rolls and after a scramble, Moura ends up on top in guard. Nice escape there from Moura to escape a tricky position.

Moura would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Joshua James showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

James shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than James was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

James is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Moura has escaped the position, nice work there.

James swings around for an armbar but Moura sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into James's guard.
Moura wants to control from the top but James keeps moving.

James has a closed guard, preventing Moura from standing up.

James controls Moura momentarily but Moura frees himself.
We've been hearing that Moura has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Moura drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and James dives on top into guard.
James tries to free his leg and advance position but Moura is retaining full guard.

Moura is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
James passes into half guard.
Joshua James is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
James wants to control but Moura is keeping him busy.
James controlling the action here.
James is keen to just control but Moura is a slippery customer.

Moura is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but James pulls his head out easily.

James is trying to control the action in half guard but Moura is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Joshua James hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Moura darts in looking for a takedown but James gets double underhooks and turns Moura into the cage.

James breaks from the clinch.

James drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

James is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
James is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Moura will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Kameny Moura has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

James is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Moura is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Joshua James comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well James has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
