PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marco Moore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pooman Skidoo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marco Moore!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pooman Skidoo!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Chad Campbell and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Skidoo throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Skidoo tries to close the distance and clinch up but Moore swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Skidoo darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Moore tries to roll over but Skidoo keeps him under control.
Skidoo trying to control the action but Moore is working from the bottom.
Skidoo passes to side control.
Moore wants to control but Skidoo postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Moore is looking to regain half guard here but Skidoo keeps moving and retains side control.
Moore manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Moore really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Skidoo is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Skidoo prevents Moore from improving his position.
Skidoo is keen to just control but Moore is a slippery customer.

Moore wants to improve his position but Skidoo is controlling well.
Skidoo is controlling the pace.
Skidoo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Moore keeps working.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Pooman Skidoo was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Moore moves in looking to clinch but Skidoo pushes him off.

Moore gets a clinch.
Moore tries for a takedown but Skidoo manages to get underhooks.

Skidoo is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Moore can't fight it off and eventually Skidoo manages to take the fight to the floor. Moore looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Moore is controlling Skidoo's posture.
Moore keeping moving, preventing Skidoo from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Pooman Skidoo wasn't active enough on the ground.

Skidoo throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Moore tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Skidoo is in Moore's guard.
Skidoo looks winded!
Skidoo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Moore swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Skidoo looking to sit in guard and control but Moore gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Moore has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Skidoo has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Moore can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pooman Skidoo dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!



Moore clinches up with Skidoo and pushes him back against the cage.

Moore manages to break the clinch.

Skidoo drives through with a takedown into Moore's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Skidoo trying to control the position from guard on top but Moore is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Skidoo might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Moore haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Skidoo is breathing heavily.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Skidoo closes the distance looking to clinch
and Moore counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Skidoo moves into the clinch successfully.
Moore taking a break, stalling in the clinch.

Moore has clasped his hands together around Skidoo's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Moore tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

Moore wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Skidoo, who protects the arm well.

Moore tries to stand but Skidoo is controlling his head.

Moore is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Skidoo knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Pooman Skidoo has got the better of the ground game so far.
Skidoo is trying to get back to half guard.
Skidoo struggling a bit here.

Moore is trying to get an arm triangle but Skidoo is defending well.

Moore looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Skidoo wants to control but Moore postures up.

Moore tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
The ground and pound from Moore seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Skidoo is trying to control Moore's posture but Moore avoids it.

Skidoo is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Moore working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Moore wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Skidoo, who protects the arm well.

Moore tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Moore has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Skidoo wants to clinch but Moore slips to the side

and Moore counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Moore tries to stand but Skidoo is controlling from the bottom.
Skidoo is trying to control the position but Moore postures up.
Moore won't allow Skidoo to sweep him here.
Moore wants to stand but Skidoo has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Skidoo controls Moore momentarily but Moore frees himself.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Pooman Skidoo was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Skidoo doesn't manage to clinch there - Moore circles away.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Skidoo shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Moore is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Skidoo jumps into side control!
Skidoo tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Moore keeps Skidoo under control for a moment.

Skidoo wants to control but Moore is keeping him busy.

Moore breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Marco Moore.
I think Moore has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
