Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lon Wells (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wrestlefuck You (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wrestlefuck You has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Lon Wells!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Wrestlefuck You!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Albert Achterberg and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wells tries to score with a low kick but You moves his leg out of the way.

Wells clinches.

Wells's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Wells looks to land a body kick but You moved away.

You dives in and scores a takedown into Wells's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
You sitting in guard here, content to control.
Wells wants to sweep here but You controlling him for the moment.
Wells keeping full guard, as You tries to pass.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wells seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Wells really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Wells is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

You throws a big right hand that misses.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
You is looking to clinch.
A slow jab from You misses its intended target.
Wells throws a front kick aimed at You's knee but You avoids it well.
Wells looks for a takedown but You sprawls well.
You tries to clinch but Wells moves out of range.

You shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Wells's guard.
Wells being controlled here, momentarily.
Wells utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

You is working Wells over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
You looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Wells working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because You has passed into half guard!
You has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Wells moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
You's corner is telling him to maintain position.

You wants to control from the top but Wells keeps moving.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Wrestlefuck You hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

You shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
You trying to control the position from guard on top but Wells is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Wells is adopting a defensive guard.
You content to stall in guard here.
You postures up.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
You fails with an attempt to clinch.
Wells tries a head kick but it misses.
You throws out a loose jab but Wells uses good head movement to avoid it.
Wells goes for a double leg but You avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as You continues to drive forward.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Back to the action!


You swings widly with a right hand

and Wells counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Wells missing with knees to the body.
Wells blocks a punch to the side of the head.
You tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Wells's elbow.
You struggles to land a body shot inside as Wells controls his hands.

Wells gets control of You's arms and successfully pulls guard. Wells will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Wells is trying to control the position but You postures up.
Wells working a defensive guard but You passes into half guard.
Wells is trying to maintain the position but You is very close to passing his half guard.
You is controlling the pace.
You takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

You prevents Wells from improving his position.
Wells is trying to maintain the position but You is very close to passing his half guard.
You is nestled in close to Wells, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Ground and pound from You.
Wrestlefuck You has got the better of the ground game so far.
You content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Wells is staying active underneath You, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wells won't allow You to pass to mount.
You throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
You uses his free foot to push down on Wells's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Wells.
Wells is wriggling around trying to escape.
You with a couple of short strikes.
You in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.

Wells tries to lock up and control but You gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
You tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Wells is looking to improve his position but You isn't that keen on the idea.
Wells sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
You stalling.
Wells keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
You wants to take a breather but Wells is having none of it.
Well, if You is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
You is keen to just control but Wells is a slippery customer.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Wrestlefuck You was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Wells shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Wells was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
You tries to get back to half guard but can't.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
You manages to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wrestlefuck You showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

You misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Wells.
You misses with a straight left.
You keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Wells slips under a jab from You.
You fails with an attempt to clinch.

A momentary lapse in concentration from You enables Wells to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. You manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Wells stops You from standing up.
You has control of Wells's left arm, preventing Wells from doing any damage.
Wells trying to control but You is working from the bottom.

Wells is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because You is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Lon Wells wasn't doing enough on the ground.
You keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lon Wells. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
You swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

You closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - You lands in his opponent's guard.
Wells lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for You!
You tries to reverse the position but Wells maintains control.

You is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
You wants to hold on but Wells pushes him away.
Wells is looking to stand but Wells has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.
You tries to lock up and control but Wells gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
You keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
You wants to hold on but Wells pushes him away.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Wells takes You's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, You is in trouble.
You looking very determined here, making life difficult for Wells.
You trying to control the position but Wells manages to sink in the hooks.

Will Wells go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

You fending off the submission attempt from Wells.
You tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Lon Wells.
I think You has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
