Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jc Bright!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, George Morand!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Alyssa Summers and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Morand gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Morand breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Morand pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Morand dives in and grabs Bright's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bright pushes down on Morand's head and hops out.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Morand.
Bright will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Bright doesn't manage to clinch there - Morand circles away.
Morand throws a head kick that misses.

Morand tries to sprawl but Bright drives through with a takedown into half guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Bright prevents Morand from improving his position.
Bright with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Bright not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Bright has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

We're going to have a standup here because Jc Bright wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Morand shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bright pinned against the cage. Bright gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Bright working over Morand with some ground and pound. Morand looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bright moves into full mount! Morand won't be happy about that!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Bright avoids the attempt from Morand to control.

Morand breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Bright bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Bright is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Morand is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Morand wants to get back to his feet.
Morand is breathing heavily.
Morand seems a little lost for a moment, as Bright dominates the positioning.
Jc Bright overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Bright wants to stand but Morand has his arm trapped.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Morand is trying to control Bright's posture but Bright avoids it.

Morand is looking to regain half guard here but Bright keeps moving and retains side control.
Bright lands a decent elbow from side control.
Bright wants to lay and pray for a moment but Morand keeps working.
Morand wants to control but Bright postures up.

Morand is not content to let Bright control the position.

Bright is trying to get an arm triangle but Morand is defending well.
Bright staying calm.
Bright tries to stand but Morand is controlling his head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Bright shoots in but no luck this time.
Morand tries to clinch up.

Bright drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Bright creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Morand sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Bright is looking to take a break and control but Morand is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
You can see the frustration on Morand's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Morand tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

Bright throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Morand has his hands clasped together but Bright breaks the hold and Morand is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Bright!
