Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ayers keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Spencer.
Ayers shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Spencer sprawls well. Spencer wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Ayers gets slowly back to his feet.
Spencer misses the body punch

and Ayers counters by clinching up.
Ayers can't get the takedown.

Ayers jumps guard.
Spencer postures up in Ayers's guard and throws a big left but Ayers blocks it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Spencer throws an elbow that misses. Ayers uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Spencer's guard. Nice move by Ayers!
Spencer has Ayers pulled in close to control his posture.

Dylan Spencer has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Spencer's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Spencer duly obliges.

Spencer throws a nice looking combination but Ayers bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
A jab from Spencer does it's job there.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Spencer just misses with a punch to the body.

Spencer rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ayers moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Spencer lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Ayers at a distance.

Ayers on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Ayers uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Spencer.
Ayers moves away from the strike by Spencer.
Spencer moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Nice defenses there by Ayers.

Ayers defending well as Spencer loads up on a big left hand.
Horrible takedown by Ayers or perhaps it was just good defense by Spencer which made him look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Steven Ayers. That's going to take a lot out of him.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ayers uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Spencer.

Spencer closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Spencer lands in his opponent's guard.
Ayers controls Spencer momentarily but Spencer frees himself.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Spencer seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Spencer fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Ayers sprawls well initially but Spencer persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Ayers is pressing down on Spencer's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Ayers tries to sprawl but Spencer drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Ayers works his way to full guard. Good work.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Ayers utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Spencer's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Spencer throws a big right hand that misses.
Spencer is working Ayers over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Spencer.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dylan Spencer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Spencer jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

Spencer shoots in and bounces Ayers off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Spencer postures up in Ayers's guard and throws a big left but Ayers blocks it.
Spencer wants to pass the guard but Ayers is keeping the position.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Ayers takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Spencer loads up on a big right hand but Ayers slips the punch.

Spencer closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Ayers did well to prevent Spencer getting side control.

Spencer misses with a head shot. Ayers uses the momentum to regain guard.
Dylan Spencer has got the better of the ground game so far.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Spencer's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Spencer loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Spencer controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Steven Ayers has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

OK we're going to have a standup here. Dylan Spencer hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Spencer throws a hook to the side of Ayers's head but Ayers sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Spencer jabs Ayers to the body, keeping him at a distance.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
A jab lands there for Spencer.
Spencer tries to bum rush Ayers with a series of wild strikes but Ayers uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

And that's the end of the fight!
Dylan Spencer comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Spencer winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
