Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Cristobal Howe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ken Kent!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Colin Fotheringham and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kent is looking to clinch.

Kent gets caught flat footed, as Howe shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Kent wants to sweep but no luck.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kent is on top in guard.
Howe is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Kent sitting in guard here, content to control.
Howe has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Howe tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kent swats him away and circles back towards the center.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Howe closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Kent did well to prevent Howe getting side control.
Kent is controlling Howe's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Kent works his way to full guard. Good work.

Kent throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Kent is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Kent wants to sweep here but Howe controlling him for the moment.

Let's hope that Kent has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Ken Kent hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Kent tries to clinch but Howe moves out of range.

Kent closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Howe did well to prevent Kent getting side control.
This has been an exciting period of action!

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Kent working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

It looks like Kent might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Ken Kent was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Howe feints and as Kent raises his hands in defense, Howe changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Howe accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kent pulls Howe in close to his closed guard and prevents Howe from doing any damage or advancing position.

Kent is looking to cinch up a triangle. Howe throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Kent's body to avoid the submission. Kent has instead reached around Howe's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Kent arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Ken Kent!
