Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bryan Simms (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pedro Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rua has chosen Sinner as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rua darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Simms is trying to control but can't.
Rua wants to stand but Simms has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Rua throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Simms is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Rua is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Simms is looking to improve his position.

Rua decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Simms fails with the takedown

and Rua counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Simms's guard now.
Rua sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Simms's guard.
Simms regains full guard. Nicely done.

Rua decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Simms, up you get!

Rua clinches up with Simms and pushes him back against the cage.
Simms gets underhooks to prevent Rua's takedown attempt.
Simms tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Rua goes for a takedown in the clinch but Simms prevents it.

Rua gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Simms regains guard.
Rua looks gassed!
Rua is looking to stand up but Simms won't let him.

Rua stands and steps away. Simms gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Simms shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rua but Rua pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bryan Simms. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Simms shoots in looking for a takedown. Rua tries to sprawl out of it but Simms keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rua manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

and Rua counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Rua.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Rua gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Rua connects with a good right hand that stumbles Simms. Simms circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Rua throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Rua scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Simms manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Rua is working for a submission of some sort.
The fighters are battling for position here. Simms manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Rua won't allow Simms to sweep him here.

Rua stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.

Rua changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Simms looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Rua advances nicely into full mount.

Rua wants to finish this one by submission but Simms is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Rua.

Rua get's back to his feet.

Rua punishes Simms's body with a nice straight punch.
Simms has a takedown stuffed.
Rua scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Rua rushes Simms and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Rua gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Rua wants to work for an arm triangle but Simms is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Simms is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Rua pulls his head out easily.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Simms trying to hold on to Rua's head to control him but Rua postures up.

Rua is working for a kimura but Simms is defending it quite comfortably.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pedro Rua dominated that round.

Rua takes the fight into the clinch.
Simms tries to pull guard but Rua holds him up against the cage and eventually Simms drops back down to his feet.

Rua pulls Simms into guard.
Rua manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Rua goes for an armbar but Simms turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Simms.
Rua keeping moving, preventing Simms from controlling successfully.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Simms pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Rua is keeping the position for now.

Simms has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Rua to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Simms is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Rua pulls down on the head and he's put Simms to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Pedro Rua!
