Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Raul Herndon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mario Maci (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maci has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Mario Maci has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yuuki Gou and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Herndon has taken the fight to the clinch.
Maci looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Herndon has Maci pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Herndon pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Maci tumbling to the mat - Herndon dives into Maci's guard.

Herndon is really struggling to control Maci but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Herndon really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Raul Herndon wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Herndon pushes Maci up against the cage in a clinch.

Maci is fighting off a takedown attempt but Herndon is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Maci to the mat. Maci regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Raul Herndon wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Herndon feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Raul Herndon has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Herndon scores with a one two! Maci had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
It looks like Mario Maci has been cut.

Herndon clinches up with Maci and pushes him back against the cage.
Herndon tightens his grip and picks Maci up, before dumping him to the ground. Maci manages to land in guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Herndon moves into the clinch successfully.
Herndon is trying to trip Maci. He has hold of a leg but Maci is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Herndon persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Maci tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Herndon looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Herndon will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Herndon misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Herndon lands a big shot there that rocks Maci but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Raul Herndon overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Herndon wants to control the pace but Maci is squirming around nicely.

Herndon lands a nice shot to the head.

Herndon can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Maci is looking to escape.
Herndon has hold of Maci's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Maci manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Maci looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Maci tries to hold on but Herndon pushes him away.
Maci is desperately trying to improve his position but Herndon has a good base and remains in mount.

Maci bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Herndon is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Maci is controlling him.

Maci controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Herndon throws a leg kick that is checked
and Maci counters with a nice leg kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Herndon shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Maci's guard.
Herndon stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Maci swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Herndon postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Maci is trying to control the position but Herndon postures up.

Herndon changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Maci looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Herndon is looking to take a break and control but Maci is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Maci can do anything to dispel that myth.
Maci is looking to regain half guard here but Herndon keeps moving and retains side control.

Maci tries to reverse the position but Herndon maintains control.

Well Herndon has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
