PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Donnell Hill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stunner Kidd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Kidd's choice of entrance music: SHAWN MIECHALS. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hill looks to land a body kick but Kidd moved away.

and Kidd counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Hill's guard now.

Hill wants to improve his position but instead Kidd has moved into half guard.

Hill could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Kidd wants to stand up but Hill has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Hill.
Hill tries to clinch up but Kidd circles away and keeps his distance.
Nice takedown defense from Kidd. No joy for Hill on that attempt.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Hill is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Kidd is keeping busy.

Hill tries to score a body lock takedown but Kidd shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Hill breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Hill shoots in looking for a takedown. Kidd tries to sprawl out of it but Hill keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kidd manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Hill dives in for a single leg takedown but Kidd sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Hill tries to break free but Kidd pushes him back against the cage.

Hill has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Kidd uses from the top position.
Hill is breathing heavily.

Kidd avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Kidd tries to stand but Hill is controlling from the bottom.

That's time! Hill's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Hill shoots for a takedown but Kidd saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Hill has closed the distance and engaged Kidd in a clinch.
Kidd has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Hill is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Hill manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Hill's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Kidd tries for a takedown but Hill manages to get underhooks.

Kidd is pressed up against the cage. Hill has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Kidd down to the mat. Kidd avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Hill is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Hill shoots in for a takedown but Kidd shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Hill closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kidd circles away.
Kidd leaves Hill with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

and Kidd counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Kidd tries to stand and escape but Hill is controlling the position.
Kidd is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Donnell Hill.
Hill has a takedown stuffed.
Hill throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Hill dives in for a single leg takedown but Kidd sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Kidd wants to take the fight to the mat but Hill manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Kidd has Hill pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Kidd pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Hill tumbling to the mat - Kidd dives into Hill's guard.

Kidd decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Hill, up you get!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Horrible takedown by Hill or perhaps it was just good defense by Kidd which made him look bad.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stunner Kidd showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Hill looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Horrible takedown by Hill or perhaps it was just good defense by Kidd which made him look bad.
Kidd displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Hill.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Kidd decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hill's guard.

Kidd wants to stand but Hill has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Hill tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kidd swivels and escapes.

Kidd has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Hill is proving hard to escape from.
Hill will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Stunner Kidd.
Hill tries to clinch there but Kidd circles away.
Hill fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kidd avoids it really well and circles away.

and Kidd counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Kidd has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Hill is proving hard to escape from.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Stunner Kidd hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Hill is looking to clinch.
Hill tries to clinch there but Kidd circles away.
Donnell Hill is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Hill tries for a takedown but Kidd sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hill shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Kidd counters with a shoot takedown. Hill fights it but they end up in guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Stunner Kidd comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Kidd winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
