Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gerard Mclaughlin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mannyac Pac (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mannyac Pac has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gerard Mclaughlin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mannyac Pac!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Stewart Dunkirk and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mclaughlin moves into the clinch.

Mclaughlin manages to break the clinch.
No joy there for Pac, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Pac throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mclaughlin's waist but Mclaughlin gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Pac off to one side.
Pac is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Pac gets caught napping as Mclaughlin dives in and scores a takedown. Pac manages to retain guard.
Mclaughlin seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Mclaughlin's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pac looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Mclaughlin wanted to stand there but Pac had control of the position.

Mclaughlin slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Mclaughlin tries to score with some ground and pound. Pac controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Mclaughlin is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Pac reverses the position - he's now on top in Mclaughlin's guard.

Pac controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Mclaughlin throws a left and a right that both miss
letting Pac counter with a right hand.
Mclaughlin takes a shot right to the bread basket.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Mclaughlin tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Mclaughlin tries to clinch but Pac moves out of range.
Mclaughlin leaves Pac with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

and Pac makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Pac tries to pull guard but Mclaughlin holds him up against the cage and eventually Pac drops back down to his feet.
Gerard Mclaughlin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mannyac Pac.
Pac drops down looking for an ankle pick but Mclaughlin pulls his leg out and moves away.
Mclaughlin tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Pac shoots in for a takedown but Mclaughlin shows good takedown defense.

Mclaughlin fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Pac to the ground. Mclaughlin is now in Pac's guard.

Mclaughlin takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Mclaughlin takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Gerard Mclaughlin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pac is trying to maintain the position but Mclaughlin is very close to passing his half guard.
