Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Aguirre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Ivanovich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Peter Ivanovich will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Peter Ivanovich!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Illya Tyunina and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ivanovich shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Aguirre sprawls well. Aguirre wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Ivanovich gets slowly back to his feet.
Aguirre is looking to clinch but Ivanovich is avoiding it.
Aguirre tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Ivanovich manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Ivanovich fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Aguirre checks it well.
Aguirre falls off balance throwing a combination

and Ivanovich counters with a takedown into side control.
Aguirre is looking for a sweep.
Ivanovich trying to control the position but Aguirre is working away.
Ivanovich wants to stand but Aguirre is controlling his arm.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Aguirre holds on to Ivanovich's head and controls the position momentarily.
Aguirre is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Aguirre keeping hold of Ivanovich's head, controlling as best he can.
Ivanovich thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Aguirre's head.
Aguirre looks like he's trying to stand up.
Ivanovich is looking to advance position but Aguirre won't allow it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Aguirre has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Ivanovich is on him like a limpet, forcing Aguirre back against the cage.
Ivanovich tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Aguirre smiles and moves away.
Ivanovich throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Aguirre looks to throw a body kick
and Ivanovich counters with a left and a right that stings Aguirre.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Aguirre has Ivanovich up against the cage in a clinch.
Aguirre fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Aguirre tries to break the clinch but Ivanovich is controlling the position.
Ivanovich drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Jon Aguirre has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Peter Ivanovich.

Ivanovich slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Aguirre is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Aguirre takes the fight into the clinch.
Ivanovich has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Aguirre is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Aguirre is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Ivanovich gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Ivanovich tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Aguirre just stands there and leans against the cage.
Ivanovich will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Aguirre up against the cage.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ivanovich can do anything to dispel that myth.

Aguirre jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Ivanovich is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Ivanovich and Aguirre has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Aguirre looking for a guillotine from mount but Ivanovich is having none of it.

Ivanovich is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

Aguirre is standing up, even though he is in mount.
The fighters circle momentarily. Ivanovich darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Nice sprawl there from Ivanovich as Aguirre shoots in.
Ivanovich tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Aguirre counters with a series of strikes. Ivanovich will be more careful next time no doubt.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Aguirre throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Ivanovich is trying hard to land a takedown here. Aguirre sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Ivanovich is breathing heavily.
Aguirre fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Aguirre tries to land a front kick but Ivanovich steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Ivanovich throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Aguirre's waist but Aguirre gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ivanovich off to one side.

A close second round but Peter Ivanovich will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Ivanovich feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Ivanovich really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Aguirre. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Ivanovich. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Aguirre is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Ivanovich's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Ivanovich's back!

Aguirre has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Ivanovich's body.

I've got Ivanovich winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
