The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Furious misses with the combination.

Turk Assambad seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Assambad shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Furious as he jumps to the side.
Furious tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Assambad manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Furious closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Assambad to the mat! Assambad manages to get full guard.
Assambad keeping moving, preventing Furious from controlling successfully.
Furious working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Furious lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Furious is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Furious postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Piotr Furious just wasn't active enough.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Piotr Furious's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

Furious drops his hands for a split second and Assambad immediately capitalizes on the opportunity by smashing a powerful hook into Furious face, sending his mouthguard sailing through the air, much to the delight of the crowd. Assambad follows up with a right hand that knocks Furious into next week. He's out cold and this fight is over!
