We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Alvarez shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Ocypode napping and manages to drive through into side control!
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Alvarez is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Ocypode knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Alvarez is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Ocypode has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Ocypode!

Ocypode stalling away here and it's allowed Alvarez to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Alvarez is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Alvarez wants to sweep here but Ocypode controlling him for the moment.

Alvarez has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Ocypode doesn't defend quickly enough and Alvarez has managed to lock this one up! Can Ocypode escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Alvarez on a fantastic submission victory.
