Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Josh Doherty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mma Fighter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Josh Doherty!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mma Fighter!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Anthony Taglia and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doherty looks to land a left hand but Fighter moved out of range nicely.
Doherty fails with a takedown attempt.
Doherty throws an off balance right hand
enabling Fighter to counter with a crisp jab.
Doherty circles away from the clinch attempt.
Fighter uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Doherty.
Doherty throws an overhand right that lands on Fighter's shoulder, as Fighter tries to avoid the shot.
Doherty circles away from the clinch attempt.
Doherty shoots in for a takedown but Fighter shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Fighter stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Fighter wants it to stay on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Josh Doherty. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Fighter getting the better of the striking in that exchange.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Fighter uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Doherty.
Fighter moves away from the strike by Doherty.

Doherty darts in looking for a takedown but Fighter gets double underhooks and turns Doherty into the cage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Fighter lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Doherty is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Fighter misses with a hook to the ribs.
Fighter misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Doherty takes a shot to the head.
Fighter lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Fighter doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
A shot in the inside from Fighter.
Fighter lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Doherty.
Doherty is breathing heavily.
Fighter prevents a body shot from Doherty.
Doherty tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Fighter smiles and moves away.
Doherty throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

and Fighter counters with a nice right hand that sends Doherty toppling to the canvas! Doherty scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Fighter finish him?!


Doherty is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Doherty scores with a takedown into Fighter's guard.
Oh Doherty is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Doherty stopping the sweep attempt from Fighter.
Fighter keeping moving, preventing Doherty from controlling successfully.
Doherty has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Fighter controls Doherty momentarily but Doherty frees himself.
Doherty seems to have got his legs back now.
Fighter looking to hit a scissor sweep but Doherty is one step ahead there.
Fighter is pulling down on Doherty's head to control his posture.
Fighter avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Doherty stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Fighter swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Doherty preventing the sweep.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
A clash of legs there as Fighter blocks the low kick.
Fighter lands a jab to the nose.

Doherty looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Fighter!
Fighter wants to control but Doherty postures up.
An elbow from Doherty crashes against the mat.
Doherty working away.
Fighter tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Doherty wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Fighter regains half guard.
Doherty thows a huge punch but Fighter dodges it nicely.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Fighter moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Fighter is on top in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fighter would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mma Fighter dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Doherty takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Doherty tries a low kick but Fighter avoids it.
Fighter clobbers Doherty with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Fighter has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Doherty is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Doherty shoots in looking for a takedown but Fighter manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Doherty's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Fighter sends Doherty crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Fighter is motioning to the referee to let Doherty up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Fighter ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Doherty manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Fighter on his heels. He'll look to pass Fighter's guard now, I'm sure.
Doherty tries to free his leg and advance position but Fighter is retaining full guard.
Fighter working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Doherty.
Fighter trying to keep a closed guard but Doherty is proving a slippery customer.
Fighter pulls Doherty in close to his closed guard and prevents Doherty from doing any damage or advancing position.

Josh Doherty overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Fighter lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Doherty!
Fighter looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Doherty is desperately trying to improve his position but Fighter has a good base and remains in mount.
Fighter scores with a couple of good head shots there.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Oooooh, big shot lands for Fighter! Doherty is hurt baaadly! Fighter is firing away with more strikes - Doherty is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
