Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cain Velasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adrian Claudiu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Velasquez drives through with a takedown into guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Claudiu wants to stand up but Velasquez is controlling him.
Velasquez sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Claudiu's guard.
Velasquez could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Claudiu has hold of Velasquez's hands but Velasquez slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Velasquez prevents Claudiu from standing back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Velasquez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Claudiu keeps working.
Velasquez tries to pass the half guard into mount. Claudiu knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Velasquez wants to work for an arm triangle but Claudiu is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Velasquez decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Claudiu stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Velasquez has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Claudiu manages to get his head free but now Velasquez has transitioned to an armbar! Claudiu grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Velasquez! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
