The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Conner moves into the clinch.
Couture misses with a body punch.

Conner jumps guard and drags Couture to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Couture trying to stand up but can't free himself from Conner's guard.
Conner is pulling down on Couture's head to control his posture.
Couture tries to stand but Conner is controlling from the bottom.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Conner is on top in guard.
Conner slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Couture is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We're going to have a standup here because Daniel Conner wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Couture wants to clinch
and Conner counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Conner throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Couture's waist but Couture gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Conner off to one side.
Couture tries to clinch but Conner moves out of range.
Couture tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Conner manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Couture looks to clinch

and Conner holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Couture doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Conner is looking to break free of the clinch but Couture has double underhooks.
Couture pushes Conner back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

It looks like Daniel Conner has been cut.

Conner has Couture pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Couture manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Couture misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Couture lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Conner is trying to drag Couture to the mat but Couture just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Daniel Conner. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Couture tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Conner's elbow.

Couture lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Conner backwards.

Couture throws a punch but it's blocked by Conner.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Couture.

Conner seems to have got his legs back now.
Couture tries to throw a body punch but Conner avoids it by throwing Couture back against the cage.
Couture lands a body shot.
Couture lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Couture unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Conner! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Couture is unloading with more strikes now! Conner drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!
