Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Samson Ransom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stan Pead (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Samson Ransom!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Stan Pead!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Paulo Santos and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ransom takes a head kick and keeps coming.
It looks like Samson Ransom has been cut.
Ransom shoots in looking for a takedown. Pead tries to sprawl out of it but Ransom keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Pead manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Pead throws a head kick but Ransom moves out of range.
Pead keeps the fight on the outside.
Ransom closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Ransom lands in his opponent's guard.
Ransom wants to control from the top but Pead keeps moving.
Pead looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Ransom has picked Pead up and slammed him! Pead can't keep hold of the triangle and Ransom manages to pass to side control!
Ransom trying to control the action but Pead is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ransom is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Pead has escaped the position, nice work there.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Pead tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ransom wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Ransom tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Pead wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.
Ransom scores with a couple of short elbows.
Pead is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Pead wants to improve his position but Ransom is controlling well.
Pead makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
A nice combination there by Pead.
Ransom fails to land the takedown.

Ransom misses with a low kick.
Ransom misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Samson Ransom. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ransom takes a kick to the side of the head.
Pead misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Ransom fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Ransom tries to close the distance and clinch but Pead swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Ransom shoots in and bounces Pead off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Ransom is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Pead keeping moving, preventing Ransom from controlling successfully.
Pead is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Ransom passes into half guard.
Ransom looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Pead pushes Ransom off looking to stand but Ransom dives back in and keeps control.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Ransom works his way into full mount!
Pead tries to reverse the position but Ransom maintains control.
Ransom landing punches.
Ransom with a couple of short strikes.
Pead looks gassed!

Pead manages to regain half guard. Good work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Pead misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Pead works his way to full guard. Good work.
Ransom thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Stan Pead dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Samson Ransom's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Pead fails in his attempt to clinch.
Ransom tries to clinch up.
Pead stuffs the takedown.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Pead.
Ransom is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Pead off and has taken his back!
Pead prevents Ransom from getting a body triangle.
Pead is trying to get back to his feet but Ransom has full control of the position and if anything, Pead has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Pead showing good submission defense here.
Ransom is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Pead up.
Oooh a big shot gets through from Ransom. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!

Ransom working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Pead controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.
Ransom looking to soften up his opponent with punches.
Ransom working for a choke but Pead is defending well.
Ransom is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Ransom gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Ransom gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Ransom apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Samson Ransom seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ransom shoots and misses
enabling Pead to counter with a crisp jab.
Ransom tries to bum rush Pead with a series of wild strikes but Pead uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Pead plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Samson Ransom's cut is getting worse.
Ransom shoots in but no luck this time.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Samson Ransom. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ransom fails with the takedown.
Pead drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Ransom looking for a sweep. Not yet Ransom, not yet.
Ransom is looking for a triangle but Pead pushes his legs off easily.

Samson Ransom overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Pead with a nice head shot there.
Pead is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Ransom is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Pead wants to get back to his feet.
Ransom is trying for a kimura here. Pead looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Ransom wins by kimura!
