PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Damian Maya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karl Swanson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maya comes to the ring accompanied by Spitfire. Swanson has chosen all nightmare long by metallica as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maya misses with a takedown
and Swanson makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

and Swanson counters with a stiff right hand.

Maya throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Swanson tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Maya is in Swanson's guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Maya got a little sloppy there for a moment and Swanson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Maya has managed to get both his arms back between Swanson's legs - danger averted.

Swanson has Maya pulled in close to control his posture.
Swanson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Maya drops back looking for a leg! Swanson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Swanson manages to kick Maya off! Maya jumps back into Swanson's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Maya is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Swanson manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Maya tries to get back to half guard but can't.

BOOM! Swanson connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Swanson lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Maya is rocked!

Swanson softens up his opponent with a couple of shots there and then CRACK! One massive shot lands there and Maya is out cold! Swanson jumps to his feet and celebrates on the ropes with the fans, who are, quite frankly, going absolutely mental!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Karl Swanson!
