Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, George Francis and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ragans checks a leg kick nicely.
Darui shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Darui jabs at Ragans's body.
Darui connects with a jab.
Darui ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ragans moves away.
Nice shot lands for Darui.
Darui throws a looping overhand right but Ragans ducks down to avoid it.
Ragans takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Darui misses with a low kick as Ragans jumps back.
Darui throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Ragans closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Ragans scores with a takedown into Darui's guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Darui looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Ragans puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Ragans stands up from half guard.

Ragans on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Darui throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Ragans takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Ragans tries to clinch up.
Ragans scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Darui really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ragans. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Darui wants to sweep but Ragans has passed to side control!
Ragans lands a few punches from side control.
Ragans remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Ragans seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Darui for as long as he can get away with.
Darui takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Darui tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ragans wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Ragans works to advance to full mount. Darui defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
That's three minutes gone in the round.

Ragans takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A nice elbow there by Ragans.
Ragans controlling the pace for now.
Darui looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
Ragans slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

Ragans keeps control of the position as Darui tries to break free.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ragans has his arm under Darui's chin here. Game over son! Ragans squeezes tightly and Darui is forced to tap out!
