Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rodger Blight (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Bowie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Rodger Blight!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, James Bowie!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Glass and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blight misses with a two punch combination.
Blight tries to clinch but Bowie moves out of range.
Bowie fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Blight on the side of the head.


It looks like Rodger Blight has been cut.
James Bowie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bowie attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.

Blight dives in and scores a takedown into Bowie's guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Blight won't allow Bowie to get back to his feet.

Blight drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Bowie dives on top into guard.
Blight will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Blight looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Bowie passes into half guard.
Bowie wants to lay and pray for a moment but Blight keeps working.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bowie is thwarting Blight's attempts to control the position.
Blight is looking to improve his position.
Blight is working hard here to advance position.
Bowie wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Blight uses the opportunity to regain full guard.
Blight looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bowie trying to control the position from guard on top but Blight is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Blight looking for a sweep. Not yet Blight, not yet.
Blight is trying to hold Bowie in close to prevent damage but Bowie has managed to pass into half guard.
Bowie is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Blight manages to get to full guard.
Bowie trying to stand up but can't free himself from Blight's guard.

Blight keeping moving, preventing Bowie from controlling successfully.
Blight wants to control the position but Bowie says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Blight trying to control but Bowie postures up.
Blight is looking to escape.
Blight could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Bowie wants to control but Blight is keeping him busy.
Blight is trying to maintain the position but Bowie is very close to passing his half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Blight wants to get back to his feet.
Blight wants to control but Bowie is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Rodger Blight.
Blight moves out of range of the leg kick from Bowie.
Bowie fails with the takedown.
Blight tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Bowie manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Bowie closes this distance looking for a takedown but Blight circles away.
Bowie fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Bowie wants to clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Bowie lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Blight circles away quickly and effectively.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but James Bowie will probably get the nod.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Blight feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Blight has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Rodger Blight has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Bowie lands with a right hand.
Bowie fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Blight on the side of the head.
Bowie closes the distance and clinches up with Blight, looking for a takedown. Bowie pushes Blight against the cage but Blight circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Blight has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Bowie finds it's way round the side to connect with Blight's head.
Bowie scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Bowie is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Bowie feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Blights jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Bowie misses with a looping right.
Bowie lands with an overhand left.

Blight changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bowie looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Blight thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
An elbow from Blight crashes against the mat.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Blight throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
You can see the frustration on Bowie's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Bowie tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Blight wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Blight trying to control the action but Bowie is working from the bottom.
Bowie wants to control but Blight postures up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bowie stops Blight from passing to mount.

Blight swings around for an armbar but Bowie sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Blight's guard.
Bowie trying to control the position from guard on top but Blight is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Bowie prevents Blight from getting back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bowie has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Blight is proving hard to escape from.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

OK we're going to have a standup here. James Bowie hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Blight drives through and clinches with Bowie against the cage.
Bowie has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Blight has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Bowie is trying to keep an underhook but Blight manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Bowie trying to hold on to Blight's head to control him but Blight postures up.
Bowie might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Blight haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Blight scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but James Bowie will probably get the nod - 10:9.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Nice sprawl there from Bowie as Blight shoots in.
Blight moves forwards but Bowie connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Bowie comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Blight walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
The fighters circle momentarily. Bowie darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Bowie closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Blight! Bowie dives in looking to finish! Blight is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:27 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). James Bowie!
