The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wood throws a lazy right hand but Faria sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Faria has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Faria moves into the clinch successfully.
Faria can't find room to land a body shot as Wood controls the action.
Wood changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Faria fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Faria fails with an attempt to clinch.
The fight stays on the outside here - Faria looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Wood tries to keep at a distance but Faria has taken the fight into the clinch.
Faria lands a hook that snaps the head of Wood backwards.
Faria lands a good knee to the midsection. Wood won't want to take too many of those.

Faria drops Wood with a big knee straight up the middle! Wood is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet!

It looks like Wayne Wood has been cut.

Faria pushes Wood against the cage. Faria is working some dirty boxing. Faria pushes off with a quick right hook! Wood goes down! Wood tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Faria moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!
