Gazer kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Cuts Like a Knife. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gazer throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Montana stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Montana checks the leg kick.
Montana tries for a takedown but Gazer sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Montana misses the shot to the body.
Gazer lands with a good body shot.
Gazer looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Gazer digs a good body shot into Montana's ribs.
Montana shoots in but Gazer avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Gazer cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Gazer takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

and Gazer counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Gazer's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gazer accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Montana is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Gazer got a little sloppy there for a moment and Montana has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gazer has managed to get both his arms back between Montana's legs - danger averted.

In his post fight interview, Peter Gazer started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
