Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Herbert Monsignor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Cottle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Herbert Monsignor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Cottle!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Cecil Peabody and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monsignor throws a sloppy head kick and Cottle moves out of range easily.

Monsignor bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Cottle prevents Monsignor from moving into mount.
Cottle wants to control but Monsignor postures up.
Cottle is looking to regain half guard here but Monsignor keeps moving and retains side control.
Cottle can't do much from the bottom here.
Monsignor wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cottle keeps working.
Cottle is looking for a sweep.

Monsignor tries for a kimura but Cottle is defending well.
Cottle being controlled for a moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Monsignor tries a head kick but it misses.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Monsignor wants to clinch up but Cottle keeps it at a distance.

Monsignor is working for takedown but Cottle is calmly controlling the position for now.
Monsignor gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Cottle.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Monsignor lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Monsignor prevents a takedown attempt there.

Monsignor gets control of Cottle's arms and successfully pulls guard. Monsignor will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Cottle trying to control the position from guard on top but Monsignor is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Cottle slips nicely into half guard.
Monsignor is trying to stand up here but Cottle is controlling him well.

Cottle is working for a kimura but Monsignor is defending it quite comfortably.
Monsignor tries to get to full guard but Cottle has control of the leg.

Cottle wants to work for an arm triangle but Monsignor is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Monsignor slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Monsignor working for a triangle but Cottle defends it easily.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Cottle stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Monsignor swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Monsignor looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Cottle passes into side control.
Cottle advances nicely into full mount.
Monsignor is breathing heavily.

Cottle working for a submission but Monsignor is keeping him at bay.
Monsignor holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Cottle tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Cottle is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Monsignor is surviving well by controlling Cottle's body position as best he can.
Monsignor gets back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Herbert Monsignor dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Monsignor looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Monsignor is trying to control the action in half guard but Cottle is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Monsignor moves nicely into side control.
Monsignor happy to just control the position for now.
Monsignor works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Cottle regains half guard.
Cottle is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Monsignor's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Monsignor's back!

Cottle is working for a rear naked choke. Monsignor is not defending it well and Cottle has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Monsignor refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Monsignor's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:02 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). David Cottle!
