Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jimmer Octopulus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and White Sons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). White Sons has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sons shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Octopulus counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Octopulus.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Sons working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Octopulus doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Octopulus manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Octopulus is pushing down on Sons's leg trying to pass to half guard. Sons is fighting to maintain full guard but Octopulus has managed to sneak the leg through.
Sons throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Octopulus looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Octopulus thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Sons's head.
Sons tries to roll over but Octopulus keeps him under control.
Sons avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Octopulus.

Sons is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Octopulus pulls his head out easily.

Sons flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Octopulus has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Sons wants to get back to full guard.

Octopulus is trying to control. Sons wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Octopulus moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Sons.
Sons is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Octopulus lands a strong strike to the head of Sons. That's dazed him! Octopulus looking to finish here. Sons is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Octopulus lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
