Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Tony Acevedo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Pak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tony Acevedo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dan Pak!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Acevedo throws a head kick but Pak moves out of range.
Pak scores with a sloppy right hand. Acevedo should have avoided that one.
Acevedo moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Acevedo shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Pak manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pak is trying to keep Acevedo in close.
Acevedo pushing down on Pak's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Acevedo prevents Pak from improving his position.

Pak is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Acevedo pulls his head out easily.
Acevedo looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Pak wants to get back to full guard but Acevedo has passed into side control.
Pak is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Acevedo really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Pak is in a horrible position here. Acevedo smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Acevedo knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Pak on the ground.
Pak wants to control but Acevedo is having none of it.
Pak might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Acevedo haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Acevedo postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Pak looks a forlorn figure.

Acevedo frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pak sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Acevedo slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Pak is working an open guard so Acevedo takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Tony Acevedo will probably get the nod.

Pak lands with a straight right. Acevedo didn't see that one coming.
Pak lands a nice shot that snaps Acevedo's head back.
Acevedo has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Pak finds it's way round the side to connect with Acevedo's head.

Pak is looking for a triangle here but Acevedo uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Acevedo connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Pak some visible discomfort.
Pak is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Pak is trying to escape the position but Acevedo is controlling the position.

Acevedo is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Pak knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Acevedo moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Pak has worked his arm free - good work by Pak!
Acevedo is staying tight to Pak's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Acevedo scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Pak to see if he's OK.
Pak is trying to work for a sweep but Acevedo has mounted him!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Pak sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Acevedo in particular looking to stall.
Acevedo's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Pak tries to get to full guard but Acevedo has control of the leg.

Pak tries to roll over but Acevedo keeps him under control.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Pak lands a nice shot to the body.

Pak shoots in but Acevedo avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Acevedo connects with a high kick.
Tony Acevedo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Acevedo fails with an attempt to clinch.
Pak fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Acevedo looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Pak doesn't manage to clinch there - Acevedo circles away.
Acevedo takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
A right-left combo lands from Pak.
Acevedo throws a series of punches but Pak avoids them all with ease.
Pak throws a right and a left that Acevedo avoids nicely.

Acevedo is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Pak's half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Pak is trying to control the position but Acevedo postures up.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Pak smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Pak enables Acevedo to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Pak manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Pak looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Acevedo passes into half guard.
Pak wants to get back to full guard but Acevedo has mounted him!

Acevedo tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Acevedo cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Pak takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Acevedo prevents Pak from getting the reversal.
Pak takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Acevedo is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Pak can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Acevedo uses his free foot to push down on Pak's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Pak.
Dan Pak has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Acevedo cracks Pak with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Pak tries to buck Acevedo off but he can't manage it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Tony Acevedo showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Acevedo, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
