The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jezierski tries to clinch
and Backwell counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.

Jezierski closes the distance and clinches up with Backwell, looking for a takedown. Jezierski pushes Backwell against the cage but Backwell circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Jezierski dives in and grabs Backwell's left leg, looking for a takedown. Backwell pushes down on Jezierski's head and hops out.

Jezierski shoots in looking for a takedown but Backwell manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Jezierski's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Piotrek Jezierski.
I think Backwell has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
