Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Joe Schmo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Bell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James Bell will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bell shoots in looking for a takedown. Schmo tries to sprawl out of it but Bell keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Schmo manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Schmo stuffs the takedown attempt from Bell. Bell gets slowly back to his feet.
Bell takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Bell tries to bum rush Schmo with a series of wild strikes but Schmo uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Schmo swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Bell.

and Schmo counters with a single leg into guard. Bell didn't expect that.

Schmo looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Bell with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Schmo is nestled in close to Bell, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Bell is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Schmo jumps into side control!
