Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Larry Regan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Luke Donald!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Bruno Hogan and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Donald pushes Regan up against the cage in a clinch.
Donald tries to break free but Regan pushes him back against the cage.

Regan has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Donald regains guard immediately.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Donald looking for a guillotine here but Regan defends easily.
Regan throwing strikes from guard but Donald blocks nicely.
Regan's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Regan loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Regan stays in close to Donald's body and controls the position.
Regan's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Donald utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Regan not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

We're going to have a standup here because Larry Regan wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Donald on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Donald closes the distance looking to clinch

and Regan counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Regan is thwarting Donald's attempts to control the position.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Donald is looking for a sweep. Regan is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Regan not doing much here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Donald wants to control but Regan is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Regan is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Larry Regan has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Donald tries to clinch
and Regan makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Donald takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Donald walks straight into a right hand from Regan - that's dropped him! Regan jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Donald from any more punishment! Donald complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Larry Regan!
