Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bishop Deacon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Mifsud (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Deacon comes to the cage accompanied by You Raise me Up by Josh Groban. This should be fireworks!

The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Trevor Gratis and Steve Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Deacon throws a body punch but Mifsud moves out of range.
Mifsud misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Deacon fails to land the takedown.
Mifsud misses with a low kick.

and Mifsud counters with a head kick. That will keep Deacon thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Mifsud's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Mifsud uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Deacon.

Deacon throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Mifsud on the side of the head.
Deacon lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Deacon wants to slow Mifsud down by chopping away at his legs.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Bishop Deacon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Mifsud creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Oh Deacon is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Deacon tries to pull guard but Mifsud holds him up against the cage and eventually Deacon drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bishop Deacon. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Deacon is working for takedown but Mifsud is calmly controlling the position for now.

Mifsud jerks Deacon's head down, straight into the path of a devastating knee! Deacon drops to the floor in a crumpled heap! Mifsud goes to throw a finishing haymaker but pulls out - good sportsmanship from Mifsud because Deacon was completely out of it. That was a nice finish - just the right level of brutality to send everyone home happy.
